The Pleasure of Being Prepared While Everyone Else Is Struggling.
After years of traveling around the world for live performances, I’ve discovered little tricks that make flying easier, more comfortable, and less stressful. Here’s one of my favorites.
TE-008 — A Few Little Luxuries

Some of the smallest things make the biggest difference.
- Noise-canceling headphones: A welcome escape from cabin noise.
- A power bank: Don’t assume the airplane’s charging outlets will work. Remember, power banks belong in carry-on baggage.
- Downloaded entertainment: Movies, music, audiobooks, or podcasts that don’t depend on Wi-Fi.
- A lightweight sweater: Because airplanes seem to have only two temperatures: freezing and too warm!
- A small comfort pouch: Lip balm, moisturizer, tissues, sanitizer, and anything else that makes you comfortable.
- A good seat choice: Sometimes a little extra legroom is worth more than first-class food.

And on longer flights, move around and stretch when it’s safe to do so.
The Pleasure of Being Prepared
After all these years of traveling, I’ve learned that great travel experiences aren’t necessarily about how much money you spend.
They’re about making smart choices that let you relax and enjoy yourself.
Good food. Everything organized. No frantic searching. No unnecessary stress.
And maybe a few fellow passengers looking over and wishing they’d thought of it first!
That’s Travel Envy.
