Michael has been a supporter of the Peoria Promise for over a decade. He flew to Peoria a month before the gala to do a press conference with Mayor Jim Ardis, lecture at Illinois College, paint with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club, and meet with sponsors. Michael's art auctioned for nearly $50,000 bringing the collective total with past performances for Peoria Promise to almost $200,000.
Michael has a fondness for the Boca West Children's Foundation and delighted attendees on multiple occasions. Each time an over-full agenda only allotted 7-min for painting. Michael's art SOLD; $60,000, $45,000, and $35,000, and when he couldn't give a live performance, he sent a small artwork to support the kids that sold for $8,000!
