The Beginning

A family’s grief became a place for others to feel held.

On June 20, 2020, at 37 weeks, Ryker was born into the arms of the Schoff family. Before they could bring him home, they had to say an impossible goodbye. The silence that followed was heavy, but so was their deep resolve that Ryker’s name would forever be tethered to gentle love and enduring light.

Instead of retreating into solitary sorrow, they transformed their loss into an open sanctuary for parents navigating the raw heartbreak of pregnancy, baby, and child loss across Huntsville and north Alabama.

A table set for remembrance, imagination, and impact.

Our annual benefit pairs a community farm-to-table banquet with living-art tableaux inspired by Andy Warhol. It is an evening where heartfelt grief and spirited community action sit side by side.

$26,500 raised

Live painter Michael Israel, celebrated for the 9/11 tribute masterpiece HERO, completed a dramatic live canvas during the event that raised $26,500 directly funding community loss initiatives.
