This piece features Michael Israel’s then-wife, captured in a moment of wild transformation as her body becomes the living canvas for one of their most daring creations.

Photographed by Bob Lasky using a Hasselblad camera, the model was first meticulously body-painted by Michael Israel with hand-airbrushed tiger stripes and subtle anatomical illusions. The motion in her flowing hair, the fierce expression, and the seamless blending of human and animal forms evoke a sense of both beauty and primal strength.

After the initial photograph was taken, Bob developed the film by hand, then printed it in large format. Michael added another layer of artistry, enhancing shadows, contrast, and detailing to create depth and surreal dimension. Finally, Bob re-photographed the enhanced piece, applying experimental darkroom chemistry to bring out vivid tones and a velvety black backdrop that makes the subject leap off the page.
