It was a quiet Monday night—one of those rare evenings when the usually packed bar at NY Prime actually had open seats. I almost didn’t go, craving a steak but not a crowd. Glad I did.

The low hum of conversation, the clink of martinis, two of my favorite barmaids behind the counter—both smiling like they knew something I didn’t. I’d stopped in to unwind, but before I could even take a sip, they told me they still had a napkin I’d drawn on weeks ago. Said they heard I was an artist. LOL.

Maybe it was the live music. Or the quiet comedy of the businessman next to me building up the courage to flirt with the woman beside him. Or maybe—definitely—it was the barmaids’ excitement over that last doodle. Whatever it was, something sparked.

The filet? Incredible. Melt-in-your-mouth, best-in-town. I almost caved for one of their legendary desserts, but I’ve been training hard and staying disciplined. (Mostly.)

No canvas in sight—but there was a stack of bar napkins. That was enough.

I started sketching what felt like a horse, but as the lines flowed, it transformed. A pair of mysterious, sexy eyes appeared behind it—watchful, playful, maybe a little dangerous. It wasn’t planned. It just… happened. A mood. A vibe. A moment captured with no rules and no expectations.

I titled it “Monday Solitude.”

And this one—I kept.
